Bit of a lowpoint for the month this... I hate playing when I'm racing against time to do some other thing, it just completely corrupts the way I play. Played some hands absolutely awfully as well, like, so awful I don't need telling (but tell me anyway, it's fine). May as well get them out, the whole point of this blog is to exorcise ghosts etc...

Man, I think I have to call flop, but I need to get out of the habit of flatting big pairs. I 3bet every other hand, then flat KK, I need a fucking talking to imo.
Anyway, nothing I can't fix going into session 6. No reverse equity, no rewarding of stupid nits, and comprehensive killage of regs based on uber aggression coming up....
In the 86 hand he doesn't bet/fold anything better when you check to him, so unless he's floating a hell of a lot and betting the turn then it seems like betting again or check/calling will be better. The problem with check/calling is that it makes the river really tough to play, and if he does have a KQ type hand he still has some equity and combining that with the fact he'll make us fold/call incorrectly sometimes too it makes c/c a bit iffy to me. So I think we should probably just bet again. Given the double gutter we'll have to bet/call here, but that probably gets value out of more worse hands than checking does, he might bluff shove sometimes, and making him fold two overs (maybe with a gutter) isn't the worst thing in the world in a big pot.
ReplyDeleteIn the KK hand postflop seems fine to me. Flatting's fine as well of course, but I probably raise more often given our flat pre.
I check call the 86, we don't fold out better, can gain some value from floats although we are not sure how often he is floating so I wouldn't worry about getting bluffed again on the river to frequently.
ReplyDeleteI'f 3bet both the Ak in hand 1 and the kk. Ak because you are deep. KK because you have all this history with bert, though flatting is fine. I'd call the flop jam too.
