Poker's not easy when.......

You're constantly trying to re-evaluate your game, make small adjustments, make large adjustments, attempt different styles and strategies; and yet not have an instant 100k hand sample with which to see the fruits of your work.

If it works straight away (translated, run good for 300 hands) then I'm all enamoured with it. If not, I ditch it. I just have to keep ploughing on, making adjustments until I can feel the corner's been turned.

Until then:

Bet the turn? I feel my hand is a little face up if we do, and this way I lose less VS AQ. I'm pretty sure QQ gets it in PF OOP. Call the river, or maybe shove? If he checks, do we like an overship?

Is this a call, given that if I raise and he, say, 3bet to $186 and shoves the river I'm suddenly pretty fuckin afraid of 13 nutted combos that beat me?

Thanks, dan

Question, what do you make of his small betsize on the flop? Like, usually for balance 1/2 pot is standard of course, but deepish and on a drawy flop, don't we expect villain to be going for nearer 3/4? Does this look a ton like KQ/AQ/AK to anyone else?

Thanks- Dan

Winning Days

Managed to string 3 winning days together, so now I have to plough on and turn that into 4, then 5 then 6. First things first though, winning today- reading old blogs and old forum posts and old videos has really helped me I think, and I've played some hands that just wouldn't have been possible a few days ago.

Playing some Irish Open Sats later too- some of Chris's rungood please!

I'll post cash hands later.

Day Of Experimention

I've been messing about a bit today, trying to get some of my old attitude back. I've overdone it slightly to be sure I've got some real spew in there which I'm not going to share with you. The crux of it is though that I need to get a lot more creative, and look into hands a lot deeper than I have been doing.

I've started a new document detailing everything I know about all UB regs. Strengths, weaknessess, how to beat them and how not to beat them.

So I'll be judging this session by how much pressrure I'm able to apply, and how well I abide by my reads of opponents. (note, that means don't bluff Marclar!)

dan

The Old Spew Returns......

And, I'm happy about it. Maybe not to the extent of one hand today, but winning a ton of 50 bb pots made me really happy.

Weeeeeeeeeee

Today's Session Plan

I've spent about 2 hours reading all my old blogs. What this has illustrated to me is not that the games have got tougher in the last 6 months or whatever, but that my overall thinking has completely failed me. This isn't to say I can't get it back.

I probably blame studying too much of what other people think. All my old blog stuffs were original and interesting thoughts of mine, about 3 levels higher than the stuff I churn out into my blogs today, and frankly 6 levels higher than the stuff you read in a 2p2 or Leggo forum.

So I started dicking around with everyone again. That hand yesterday I called his flop bet, which he'll always be making with air given we both have a face up pocket pair. He also bet a 'fold please' amount. So, I called his flop bet, and when he checked the turn I shoved on the A77 K K river and he folded.

I need to think outside the box more, in a nutshell

Shock Realisation

I just watched an old video of mine, and started reading my old blogs from last August. What I discovered has shocked me, I have become much much worse at poker. My analysis at the time is on a much much higher level than at current, and I'm sat here reading through thinking like *wow* on tons of stuff. Tons of insighful and original stuff I just don't even think of or factor in any more is just rolling off my tongue.

How the hell can I have regressed so much? This is for sure, I need to read all that stuff and try to get somewhere back near that level........

Edit: Just started to play a session, I'm excited. Example, I'm seeing OPTIONS in this spot, where previously I would've seen only one......... it just takes a bit of lateral thinking, can you see why?

Some Call Downs

Winning session, no PF spew, but still probably didn't play great, or bad. I got in JJ vs KidConrete's OTB 3bet, his first BTN 3bet in over 1000 hands in fact. AA, but ship the J river. So, I guess that makes some PF spew after all.

I've been pretty call happy lately. Here's 3 from today, between 1 and 3 of them were successful. Can you tell which ones? Villains in 1 and 2 should be known to you, villain in hand 3 is a bluffy 62/22 fish.
