Introducing, The Hammer

I'm going to invent a poker term. Yup, I've done this too often now successfully for it not to be given it's own name. DodgyKen invented 'Squash' (allegedly), I have The Hammer. The definition is as so:

The Hammer: When you have cbet and double barreled a dry board as bluffs OOP. Villain's range for calling twice is defined as a top pair type hand, or potentially a double floated GS or OESD. Given stacks, you would have expected a raise from a nutted hand on earlier streets. You check, and when villain bluffs or looks for thin top pair value, you punish by CRAI. Example:

$1/$2 No Limit Holdem • 4 Players

Generated by weaktight.com.

COGROGHEADFLOW$278.35
BTNMACEYKO$304.05
SBOCEANPO$161.50

GROGHEADFLOW raises to $7, MACEYKO calls $7, 2 folds

  • MACEYKO lost $105.50

So wait wait. Villain is on a draw and he bluffs with his draw and we jam a better hand as a bluff. Got it.
